My Alarm Clock and I Are No Longer Friends ⏰💤

I would like to file an official complaint.

Against my alarm clock.

Yes, that little round object sitting on my bedside table.

The one with the innocent white face, two tiny bells, and absolutely no respect for my personal happiness.

This morning, it committed a terrible crime.

It woke me up.

While I was sleeping.

In my own bed.

Under my favorite blanket.

Without asking for permission.

Honestly, the audacity. 😂

And before anyone says, “But Miu, that’s literally what alarm clocks are supposed to do,” please understand that I am currently accepting sympathy, not logic.

Thank you very much.

1. The Morning Started With Betrayal

Let me explain.

Last night, I went to bed feeling extremely responsible.

I washed my face, brushed my teeth, changed into something comfortable, and arranged my pillows until everything felt just right.

I even set my alarm.

Voluntarily.

Because apparently, nighttime Miu is a very ambitious woman.

Nighttime Miu believes in productivity.

Nighttime Miu makes plans.

Nighttime Miu says things like, “Tomorrow, I’ll wake up early and have a beautiful morning.”

She’s adorable.

She’s optimistic.

And quite frankly, she’s becoming a problem.

Because morning Miu does not agree with any of those decisions.

Morning Miu has different priorities.

Mainly:

Blanket.

Pillow.

More blanket.

And absolutely no unnecessary movement.

So when my alarm started ringing, I experienced what can only be described as a serious disagreement between two versions of myself.

Nighttime Miu had made a promise.

Morning Miu wanted to cancel the subscription.

2. The First Five Seconds of Confusion

You know that strange moment when you wake up but your brain hasn’t fully joined the conversation?

That was me.

One eye opened.

The other refused.

My hair was everywhere.

My cheek was pressed against the pillow.

And somewhere in the distance, I heard a noise.

Ring. Ring. Ring.

I thought, “What is that?”

Then I remembered.

The alarm.

My alarm.

The one I had personally set.

I stared at it.

Well, technically, I stared in its general direction because only one eye was functioning.

“Why are you doing this to me?”

It continued ringing.

No explanation.

No apology.

Just relentless enthusiasm.

Some objects really need to learn boundaries.

3. The Blanket Had Other Plans

Here’s something nobody talks about enough.

Why does your bed become approximately 400% more comfortable the exact moment you’re supposed to leave it?

Seriously.

At night, I spend several minutes adjusting my pillow.

Too high.

Too low.

Too warm.

Not fluffy enough.

But the second my alarm rings?

Suddenly, everything is perfect.

The pillow feels like a cloud.

The blanket has achieved the ideal temperature.

The mattress seems personally invested in my happiness.

And the entire bedroom becomes the most wonderful place on Earth.

I pulled my soft blue blanket a little closer.

Just for a second.

A completely harmless second.

Then I whispered:

“Maybe I could live here.”

Not forever, obviously.

Just until lunchtime.

4. My Hand Went on a Dangerous Mission

Eventually, I decided to silence the alarm.

A brave decision.

A necessary decision.

A decision requiring an unreasonable amount of physical effort.

I stretched one arm toward the bedside table.

My head stayed on the pillow.

My eyes remained mostly closed.

My fingers searched for the clock.

Left.

A little farther.

Almost there.

I touched something.

Wood.

Wrong.

I tried again.

Finally, my fingers found the alarm clock.

Victory!

Unfortunately, the alarm was still ringing.

Apparently, touching an alarm clock does not automatically make it understand your feelings.

How disappointing.

I opened one eye.

Looked at the clock.

And gave it my most serious expression.

Which probably wasn’t very intimidating because half my face was still buried in a pillow.

But the intention was there.

5. The Snooze Button Is a Dangerous Invention

Let’s discuss the snooze button.

Who invented it?

And why does it feel like the greatest gift to humanity at 7 a.m.?

Five more minutes.

Such a beautiful promise.

Such a reasonable request.

Five minutes isn’t much.

It’s barely enough time to do anything.

Surely, I deserve five more minutes.

I pressed snooze.

Closed my eyes.

And smiled.

Peace returned to the kingdom.

For approximately three seconds.

At least, that’s how it felt.

Then the alarm started again.

Excuse me?

Already?

I had barely finished appreciating the first snooze.

This was unacceptable.

I checked the time.

Several minutes had passed.

Apparently, time behaves differently when you’re under a blanket.

I would like scientists to investigate this immediately.

6. My Morning Brain Started Negotiating

At this point, my brain began producing excuses.

Very creative excuses.

Excuse number one:

“Maybe today is a holiday.”

It wasn’t.

Excuse number two:

“Maybe the clock is wrong.”

Unlikely.

Excuse number three:

“Maybe I can complete all my morning tasks in seven minutes.”

Absolutely not.

Excuse number four:

“What if I simply become a professional sleeper?”

Interesting career opportunity.

Flexible hours.

Comfortable workplace.

Excellent blanket benefits.

I briefly considered updating my résumé.

Miu Mintra

Professional Nap Enthusiast

Special Skills:

  • Falling asleep during movies
  • Finding the cold side of a pillow
  • Negotiating with alarm clocks
  • Remaining adorable while completely unproductive

Expected salary:

Unlimited snacks and comfortable bedding.

I think I would be an excellent candidate.

7. The Pillow Was My Most Supportive Friend

While my alarm clock was busy ruining everything, my pillow remained loyal.

Soft.

Comfortable.

Quiet.

Never demanding anything.

Never asking me to check my schedule.

Never reminding me about responsibilities.

Just supporting my head.

Literally.

I pressed my cheek against it and sighed.

“At least someone understands me.”

The pillow said nothing.

Which was exactly the kind of emotional support I needed.

Honestly, we should all appreciate our pillows more.

They put up with our messy hair, sleepy faces, late-night thoughts, and occasional dramatic complaints.

And they never ask for recognition.

True friendship.

8. My Hair Had Officially Resigned

Eventually, I lifted my head.

Big mistake.

My hair had apparently spent the night attending a secret party.

Without me.

Strands were sticking out in random directions.

My bangs had developed their own personality.

And the little braid near the side of my head looked like it had survived a small adventure.

I caught a glimpse of myself.

“Oh.”

Then I looked again.

“Oh, dear.”

Was this the same girl who had carefully brushed her hair before bed?

Apparently not.

I looked like someone who had been personally defeated by a pillow.

And honestly?

I had.

But I decided not to judge my hair too harshly.

It had been through a lot.

Mostly eight hours of me rolling around.

9. A Very Serious Morning Investigation

I decided to conduct an investigation.

Why was waking up so difficult?

Was it because I stayed up a little too late?

Possibly.

Was it because my bed was extremely comfortable?

Definitely.

Was it because the world expected me to become a functional adult before breakfast?

Suspicious.

I considered all the evidence.

Then reached a conclusion.

I needed breakfast.

Preferably something delicious.

Perhaps warm toast.

Maybe eggs.

A little fruit.

And coffee.

Suddenly, my motivation increased.

Interesting.

Apparently, my brain responds better to breakfast than to alarm clocks.

This is valuable scientific information.

You’re welcome.

10. The Great Escape From Bed

I finally decided it was time.

No more excuses.

No more negotiations.

No more pretending I couldn’t hear the alarm.

I sat up.

Slowly.

Very slowly.

Like a sleepy little turtle emerging from its shell.

My blanket slid down.

The morning air touched my shoulders.

And immediately, I reconsidered every decision that had brought me to this moment.

“Why is the world so cold?”

It wasn’t actually that cold.

But compared with my cozy blanket?

Absolutely freezing.

I took a deep breath.

Put one foot outside the bed.

Then the other.

And stood up.

Ladies and gentlemen.

We have achieved vertical Miu.

Please hold your applause.

11. The Bathroom Mirror Was Not Prepared

My first destination was the bathroom.

I shuffled toward the sink, still half asleep.

Then looked in the mirror.

I blinked.

The girl in the reflection blinked back.

We both looked confused.

“Good morning,” I whispered.

The reflection offered no enthusiasm.

Understandable.

I washed my face with cool water.

And suddenly, things began improving.

My eyes opened properly.

My thoughts became clearer.

My hair was still questionable.

But at least I could recognize myself.

Progress!

Sometimes a fresh splash of water really does help me feel ready to begin.

Although I still believe my alarm clock could have been more polite.

12. The Breakfast Motivation Experiment

Back in the kitchen, I decided to test my theory.

Could breakfast transform a sleepy girl into a functioning human?

I prepared something simple.

Warm toast.

A little fruit.

And a comforting drink.

Nothing fancy.

Nothing requiring a cooking competition.

Just breakfast.

I sat down.

Took my first bite.

And smiled.

Oh.

There she is.

Morning Miu had finally arrived.

Not fully energetic.

Not ready to run a marathon.

But definitely more interested in participating in the day.

I looked toward my bedroom.

“See? You could have just offered me toast.”

The alarm clock remained silent.

Typical.

13. Why Do Morning Plans Sound So Easy at Night?

This is something I genuinely find hilarious.

At night, everything sounds achievable.

Wake up early?

Easy.

Exercise?

Of course.

Prepare breakfast?

Naturally.

Organize my room?

Why not?

Become the most productive version of myself?

Absolutely!

But morning arrives, and suddenly I’m negotiating with a pillow.

It’s not that I don’t want to have a good day.

I do.

I really do.

It’s just that my nighttime imagination sometimes forgets to consult my morning energy levels.

So I’ve started trying something different.

Instead of planning an impossibly perfect morning, I make room for a realistic one.

A little time to wake up.

A simple breakfast.

Enough sleep the night before.

And fewer dramatic expectations.

Because I don’t need every morning to look like a beautiful lifestyle commercial.

Some mornings are peaceful.

Some are productive.

And some begin with me losing an argument against a clock.

That’s life.

And honestly, it’s pretty funny.

14. My Official Morning Survival Report

After extensive research conducted from the comfort of my own bed, I have prepared the following findings.

Alarm clock enthusiasm: 10/10

Miu’s enthusiasm: 2/10

Pillow comfort: 100/10

Blanket loyalty: Outstanding

Hair condition: Under investigation

Number of sleepy excuses: Classified

Snooze temptation: Extremely high

Morning facial expression: Confused potato

Breakfast motivation: Surprisingly effective

Actual ability to function: Eventually successful

Would I repeat this experience tomorrow?

Unfortunately, yes.

Apparently, mornings happen every day.

Who approved this schedule?

😂

15. The Unexpected Good Part

Here’s the funny thing.

Once I was actually awake, the morning wasn’t bad at all.

Sunlight was filtering through the curtains.

The room felt peaceful.

My breakfast was lovely.

And the day was waiting for me.

I had spent so much energy resisting the morning that I’d almost forgotten it could be enjoyable.

Not every day begins with excitement.

Sometimes we need a few quiet minutes before we’re ready.

Sometimes our energy arrives slowly.

And sometimes we just need to stop arguing with our alarm clocks.

I’m still working on that last one.

But I’m making progress.

Probably.

16. A Small Confession About Being an Adult

When I was younger, I thought adults had everything figured out.

I imagined grown-ups waking up naturally, stretching gracefully, drinking coffee, and beginning their day with perfect confidence.

Now?

I’m 25.

And I occasionally need to convince myself that leaving my blanket is a reasonable life decision.

It’s a little ridiculous.

But also comforting.

Because real life isn’t always beautifully organized.

We forget things.

We get sleepy.

We make ambitious plans.

We change our minds.

We laugh at ourselves.

And somehow, we keep going.

I think there’s something lovely about that.

We don’t need to turn every ordinary morning into an achievement.

Sometimes getting up, eating breakfast, and greeting the day is enough.

Especially when the pillow is exceptionally comfortable.

17. My New Agreement With the Alarm Clock

After this morning’s incident, I’ve decided we need a new arrangement.

A professional agreement.

Between me and my alarm clock.

Here are the proposed terms.

First, I will try to go to bed at a sensible hour.

Second, the alarm clock may ring at the agreed time.

Third, I reserve the right to complain briefly.

Fourth, the pillow must not interfere with negotiations.

Fifth, breakfast should be available as soon as reasonably possible.

And finally, nobody is allowed to judge my morning hairstyle.

I believe these terms are fair.

The alarm clock has not responded.

But I’m interpreting its silence as acceptance.

18. Tomorrow Will Be Different

Tonight, I’m going to prepare for a better morning.

I’ll put my things where I can find them.

I’ll choose something comfortable to wear.

I’ll set my alarm.

And I’ll try to get enough sleep.

Very responsible.

Very organized.

Very impressive.

Then I’ll climb into bed.

Pull my blanket over my shoulders.

Rest my head on my favorite pillow.

And whisper:

“Tomorrow, we’re waking up on time.”

The pillow will remain silent.

The alarm clock will wait patiently.

And somewhere deep inside my brain, morning Miu will probably be laughing.

Because we all know how this story might end.

But that’s okay.

I’ll try again.

With a little patience.

A little humor.

And possibly a very large breakfast.

19. Tell Me I’m Not the Only One!

Now I need to ask you something very important.

What kind of morning person are you?

Are you the magical type who wakes up before the alarm, opens the curtains, and happily starts the day?

Or are you more like me?

One eye open.

Hair everywhere.

Hand searching desperately for the snooze button.

And a pillow whispering, “Stay a little longer.”

Please tell me.

I need to know whether there are other members of the Sleepy Morning Club.

Membership is free.

Uniform: pajamas.

Meetings: preferably canceled because everyone is sleeping.

😂💕

20. Good Morning, Eventually!

By the time I finished breakfast, I was smiling.

My hair was brushed.

My eyes were open.

And I was finally ready to face the day.

The alarm clock sat quietly beside my bed.

Looking innocent.

As if nothing had happened.

I walked past it.

Stopped.

And gave it one final look.

“We’re still not friends.”

Then I smiled.

“See you tomorrow.”

Because even though mornings can be a little chaotic, there’s always something funny hiding in the ordinary moments.

And if we can laugh at ourselves while finding our way through the day, perhaps that’s a pretty good start.

So here’s to sleepy eyes, messy hair, warm blankets, delicious breakfasts, and the tiny victories of everyday life.

May your mornings be gentle.

May your coffee be delicious.

And may your alarm clock show at least a little compassion.

With sleepy smiles and a heart full of laughter,

Miu Mintra 💕⏰
